Rockville, MD. April 19, 2010– Scuderi Auto Body CARSTAR has been certified green, according to U.S. EPA standards by GRC-Pirk, an Environmental Assessment firm. The distinction recognizes Scuderi Auto Body CARSTAR’s effort to increase energy efficiency, reduce emissions and pollution.

In 2002 Scuderi CARSTAR won the National Prevention Award for their invention of the Nation’s first Non-Hazardous Paint Gun Cleaning System: “The Bonny Marlin” cleans paint guns without using hazardous solvents, produces no Hazardous Waste and eliminates Hazardous Air Pollutants.

In 2008 Scuderi CARSTAR installed the Eco-Friendly, BASF “Waterborne” Paint system. This “Eco Friendly” paint line substantially lowers air pollutant emissions.

In 2009 Scuderi CARSTAR was recognized by Montgomery County for it’s Recycling program.

In 2009 Scuderi CARSTAR became a member of the “Maryland Green Registry” – a voluntary state program that recognizes “greening” efforts by organizations within the state.

Certified Green Investment registration was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2008 as a Collision Repair Campaign partnership to reduce hazardous air pollution through increased energy efficiency. Today, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, Certified Green Investment offers businesses solutions to save energy, money, and help protect the environment.
